Doha: Qatari newspapers highlighted Sunday the European tour HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani embarks on today with a state visit to the Italian Republic, followed by an official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany.
The Qatari dailies stressed the significance of HH the Amir’s visits to Italy and Germany in opening up wider horizons for cooperation, as well as addressing pressing regional and internation developments, most importantly the critical situation in the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian territories and Lebanon.
Referring to HH the Amir’s visit to Italy, the newspapers emphasized the strong and firm relations between Qatar and Italy, based on joint cooperation across various fields.
In another context, the newspaper highlighted Qatar’s prominent and distinguished presence since joining the United Nations in 1971, through its active engagement in most of the activities of the international organization, especially with regard to humanitarian and developmental aspects, in addition to its
remarkable support for international peace efforts.
In its editorial entitled “His Highnesss Tours Strengthen Qatars Position,” Al-Sharq said the European tour which HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani begins today with a state visit to the Italian Republic, followed by an official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany reflects His Highnesss keenness on strengthening and expand the horizon of bilateral relations and partnership with these two important countries at various political and economic levels, in a way that achieves common interests and contributes to supporting stability, peace and development in the region and the world.
HH the Amir will discuss with leaders and senior officials in the two countries ways to enhance friendship and cooperation in various areas, in addition to addressing regional and international issues of common interest, Al-Sharq noted.

elations with friendly countries, within the framework of the State’s strategy and direction to consolidate the position of the State of Qatar as an effective economic power, enhance its presence on the international scene, and contribute to supporting security and stability, in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030, and based on its role as an international mediator seeking to resolve disputes through peaceful and diplomatic means, Al-Sharq indicated.
In conclusion, Al-Sharq noted the significance of HH the Amir’s visits to Italy and Germany in view of the common need to build deeper understandings and consensus amidst the pressing global challenges, as well as the European countries’ interest in building strategic partnerships with the State of Qatar for its vital roles in ensuring energy security at the global level, and its prominent contributions to maintaining international peace and security at the regional and international levels.
Under the headline “Partnership and Cooperation,” Al-Watan under
scored the importance of HH the Amir’s visits to Italy and Germany, both in terms of opening new horizons for cooperation, and in terms of addressing regional and international issues of common interest, most notably the developments in the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian territories and Lebanon, where Qatar has a fundamental role to reach ceasfire, end the war and prevent its repercussions, in light of Italy and Germany’s interest in preventing the escalation and reaching peaceful solutions after more than a year since the start of the Israeli aggression.
Qatar’s mediation efforts enjoy global support, and HH the Amir’s visits will be an opportunity to emphasize the importance of these efforts as the best way to stop the war. The Qatari efforts have received clear support from Italy and Germany in order to reach a ceasefire, as the three countries share a common commitment to ensuring the stability of the region, including the situation in Lebanon, Al-Watan stressed.
