Doha: In their editorials on Thursday, Qatari newspapers focused on a number of local and regional topics. Firstly, HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s steadfast position on the Palestinian cause through the message he delivered on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, in which he reiterated Qatar’s moral and humanitarian commitment to supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. The newspaper said that His Highness emphasized from the outset of his message that Qatar’s support for the Palestinian people is a moral and fraternal duty grounded in the principles of justice, freedom, and the right of peoples to self-determination. His Highness also noted that Palestinians are demanding nothing more than their natural rights guaranteed by international law, foremost among them the establishment of their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The newspaper pointed out that when highlighting Qatar’s efforts to end the Israeli war in Gaza, His Highness reiterated that a ceasefire is not an end in itself, but a first step on the path toward a fundamental solution based on the establishment of a Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967.
