Doha: Qatari newspapers on Wednesday highlighted HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s honoring of the winners of the 8th edition of the Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani International Anti-Corruption Excellence Award (ACE Award), which was hosted by the Republic of Costa Rica yesterday.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari dailies emphasized that the ACE Award is not just a celebration of achievements in combating corruption but also a strong supporter of global anti-corruption efforts. It sends an international message to anti-corruption advocates, affirming that they are backed by leaders such as HH the Amir, as well as international organizations, in the fight against corruption.
In its editorial entitled “Honoring Anti-Corruption Advocates,” Al-Watan said that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani honored yesterday the winners of the 8th edition of the Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani International Anti-Corruption Excellence Award which has become a strong supporter of international ef
forts to combat corruption and mitigate its negative impact. Al-Watan stressed the importance of fostering cooperation among governments, international organizations, and non-governmental organizations to develop effective strategies to counter corruption. The ACE Award emphasizes the right to fight corruption and to live in a world free of corruption in all areas, whether political, economic, social, cultural, health, or others, the paper indicated. The Award also highlights good practices and anti-corruption models from around the world. It is a culmination of Qatar National Vision 2030 which aims at establishing good governance and transparency, and eradicating the scourge of corruption, Al-Watan added.
For its part, Al-Sharq stated that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s participation in the honoring ceremony of the 8th edition of the Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani International Anti-Corruption Excellence Award (ACE Award) affirmed the State of Qatar’s commitment to supporting joint internati
onal efforts in the fight against corruption. In its editorial entitled “Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani ACE Award,” Al-Sharq noted that the ACE Award is presented annually on the International Anti-Corruption Day, to honor and appreciate those who contributed to the global anti-corruption efforts. Holding the 8th edition of the Award in San Jose aimed to honor individuals and institutions who have dedicated themselves to combating corruption in the Republic of Costa Rica, in recognition of the country’s great efforts to become the third country in combating corruption in Latin America, which sends a message to all anti-corruption advocates around the world that they are supports and their efforts are appreciated, Al-Sharq said.
