Doha: Qatari newspapers focused on several key local topics in their Thursday editorials, including the launch of the National Strategy to Promote Integrity, Transparency, and Prevent Corruption (2025-2030) by the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority (ACTA). This initiative was launched under the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani. The newspapers regarded this as a crucial step toward reinforcing integrity values and enhancing transparency, aligning with Qatar National Vision 2030.
According to Qatar News Agency, the editorials also emphasized the commitment of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs to support Lebanon’s army and state institutions. This was highlighted during his meeting with the Army Commander of the Republic of Lebanon, Brigadier General Rodolphe Haykal. The State of Qatar expressed its ongoing solidarity with the Lebanese people, aiming to ease the impacts of Lebanon’s political, economic, and security crises and support Lebanese rights on the international stage against occupation violations.
The newspapers also covered Qatar’s hosting of the International Conference on the Protection of Journalists in Armed Conflict Zones. This event was organized by the National Human Rights Committee and Al Jazeera Public Liberties and Human Rights Centre, in collaboration with UNESCO and the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights.
Al-Arab newspaper noted in its editorial that the launch of the National Strategy by ACTA signifies an important move toward promoting integrity and transparency. Combating corruption remains a top priority for Qatar’s leadership, a stance that has been well-received by the public. Qatar ranks high in transparency and anti-corruption globally, as evidenced by its performance in the Corruption Perceptions Index by Transparency International, where it scored 58 points, placing it second in the Gulf and Arab world.
Al-Sharq newspaper highlighted the mutual visits between Qatari and Lebanese officials, underscoring the strong cooperation and historical ties between the two nations. Qatar has consistently supported Lebanon through its crises, playing a pivotal role in enhancing security and stability in the region with diplomatic initiatives aimed at promoting dialogue and internal consensus in Lebanon.
Both newspapers concluded by affirming Qatar’s commitment to supporting Lebanon and its people, emphasizing the importance of continuous dialogue and cooperation to address regional developments and enhance bilateral relations for mutual benefits.
