QSE Index Edges Lower at Market Open

Doha: The QSE general index saw a slight decline of 0.05% at the start of trading on Wednesday, decreasing by 5.37 points to settle at 10,772, in comparison to the previous session’s close.

According to Qatar News Agency, the downturn was primarily influenced by losses in four sectors. Telecoms experienced a decrease of 0.73%, Consumer Goods and Services dropped by 0.20%, Transportation fell by 0.12%, and Insurance slightly dipped by 0.01%. In contrast, the Industrial sector noted a gain of 0.21%, and Banks and Financial Services saw a marginal rise of 0.01%, while the Real Estate sector remained stable with no change.

By 10:00 am, the Qatar Stock Exchange recorded a turnover of QR 25.079 million, with 11.142 million shares being traded across 2,208 transactions.
