QSE Index Slips 3.67% at Market Open

Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index dropped sharply at the start of trading on Sunday, shedding 389.82 points, or 3.67%, to reach 10,236 points compared to the previous session’s close. The decline was driven by losses across all sectors.

According to Qatar News Agency, the downturn was led by the Telecoms sector, which fell by 5.90%, followed by Insurance (-4.03%), Real Estate (-3.98%), Transportation (-3.59%), Banks and Financial Services (-3.53%), Industrials (-3.42%), and Consumer Goods and Services (-2.60%).

As of 10:00 am, the QSE recorded a trading volume of 83.059 million shares, with a total turnover of QR 146.125 million executed through 5,819 transactions.
