QSTP to Host Groundbreaking AI Week for 15th Anniversary Celebration.

Doha: Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP), part of Qatar Foundation, is set to host the first-ever QSTP AI Week 2024 from November 24th to 28th, marking its 15th anniversary. The event will explore advancements in artificial intelligence, its applications, and future potential while fostering collaboration and dialogue around AI-driven innovation. Al Jazeera Media Institute will participate as the official media partner.

According to Qatar News Agency, QSTP AI Week 2024 will feature a wide-ranging program that includes expert-led masterclasses, panel discussions, practical workshops, live tech demonstrations, and inspirational talks. The event will bring together technology specialists, industry leaders, innovators, and academia to delve into AI’s future, foundational technologies, applied tech, and sustainability.

A highlight of the event will be a keynote address by Dan Jeavons, VP of Computational Science and Digital Innovation at Shell, who will discuss emerging AI trends. Jeavons is known for his
contributions to Shell’s digitalization efforts and leadership in digital transformation.

The event will also include the second edition of QSTP’s Ride and Pitch Competition, aimed at startups and university students with AI-driven business ideas. Participants will receive mentorship and training before pitching their ideas aboard a tram in QF’s Education City.

Additionally, an AI Hackathon, organized with the Qatar Scientific Club and the Ministry of Sports and Youth, will challenge students to develop robotics solutions for environmental issues. The hackathon will include workshops to equip participants with necessary skills, culminating in a demo day on the event’s final day.

Attendees will also have the chance to experience the QSTP AI Immersive Experience, featuring innovative AI technologies in industries like transport, healthcare, and automotive. The event will showcase local and international startups, including demonstrations of level four autonomous cars.

He emphasized the importance of the program in offering opportunities for collaboration and exploration of AI’s transformational power. QSTP will continue its AI initiatives by participating in the World Summit AI Qatar in December.
