QU to Organize Fourth World Congress on Engineering and Technology in December.

Doha: Qatar University (QU)’s College of Engineering will organize the Fourth World Congress on Engineering and Technology starting December 25, 2024. This prestigious event will feature the 25th International Conference on Web Information Systems Engineering, the 6th International Gas Conference, the 4th World Energy Storage Conference, and the National Cybersecurity Competition.

According to Qatar News Agency, Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Khaled Kamal Naji, emphasized that the congress will host a range of sessions, keynote lectures, and panel discussions aimed at advancing knowledge in areas such as web information systems, gas technology, and energy storage. These sessions will promote the exchange of technical expertise among international experts, scholars, and industry leaders, fostering a collaborative environment to address critical challenges in these fields.

The congress aims to feature high-quality research reflecting the latest advancements and providing practical solutions for the
industry. It will introduce innovative policies aligning with global trends in sustainable energy and digital transformation. Participants will gain insights into cutting-edge technologies, discuss pressing scientific issues, and explore how policy developments can support progress in these vital areas of engineering.

Prof. Naji noted that over 800 scientific papers have been submitted to the congress and will be published in peer-reviewed journals. The event will include participation from industry experts, researchers, and decision-makers. It features panel discussions providing opportunities to present the latest studies, real-world examples, and successful applications, contributing to collaboration and idea exchange in research and industry for a more sustainable future.

Prof. Ibnelwaleed Hussein, Research Professor at the Gas Processing Center, stated that the conference theme “Energy Transition and Sustainability” invites researchers to submit abstracts on diverse topics, including energy transition, hydrogen, decarbonization, digital transformation, and AI in oil and gas processes.

Prof. Fares Al Momani from the Department of Chemical Engineering expressed readiness for hosting the 4th World Energy Storage Conference (WESC-2024), emphasizing its importance in addressing advancements and challenges in energy storage. Participants from countries including Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, USA, Canada, and more will gather to showcase research and foster discussions.

Dr. Mahmoud Barhamgi, Associate Professor and general chair of WISE2
024, highlighted the conference’s significance as a leading forum for web research. WISE2024 will feature a rich scientific program, including tracks on trendy research topics, a PhD symposium, demo sessions, panels, workshops, and keynotes by speakers from academia and industry, with participants from over 50 countries.
