Riyadh Hosts The 42nd Session Of The GCC Summit Today

Baghdad The Saudi capital, Riyadh, will host today, Tuesday, the 42nd Gulf Summit.

According to Saudi media, the hosting comes in light of a region witnessing changes, political entitlements, and urgent files, most notably the Iranian nuclear file.

The Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq will be absent from the summit.

Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa will head his country’s delegation to the summit, and the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, will head his country’s delegation participating in the Riyadh summit.

The Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, will lead his country’s delegation, and the Kuwaiti Crown Prince, Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber, will lead his country’s delegation to the summit, and the Deputy Prime Minister for Omani Cabinet Affairs Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said will lead the delegation of the Sultanate of Oman.

The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf was established in 1981, and includes 6 countries, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait and the Sultanate of Oman.
