Doha: Russian authorities announced on Tuesday that they have taken control of two new towns in eastern Ukraine.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Russian Defense Ministry stated that its forces captured the towns of Neskuchne and Terny in the Donetsk region. The ministry reported that military units advanced on several fronts and inflicted losses on Ukrainian forces.

The possibility of resolving the ongoing crisis between Moscow and Kyiv remains bleak, three years into Russia’s military operation in Ukrainian territory. The increasing security, humanitarian, and political challenges in Europe and globally are further complicating the situation, which appears to be moving towards further escalation.
