Doha: The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday that its forces have taken control of a new town in eastern Ukraine, eliminated 900 soldiers, and downed 99 drones.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry stated that military operations conducted by units of the Russian South group led to the capture of Sukhaya Balka, located in the Donetsk region. The Russian forces carried out targeted attacks on Ukrainian Armed Forces gatherings in the regions of Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Donetsk. In these operations, Ukrainian forces reportedly lost dozens of tanks, armored vehicles, personnel carriers, artillery, ammunition depots, and electronic warfare stations.
The Ministry further reported that Russian operational and tactical aircraft, along with unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces, and artillery, inflicted damage on a Ukrainian drone production facility.
Since the onset of the conflict, which has extended into its fourth year, both Russia and Ukraine have been issuing frequent reports claiming defensive successes against each other. Verification of these claims remains challenging due to the ongoing conflict and battlefield conditions since February 24, 2022.
