The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the second phase of non-strategic nuclear forces exercises has begun in Russia.
This came according to the Ministry’s statement, which continued: ‘In accordance with the decision of the Russian President, the second phase of the non-strategic nuclear forces exercises began,’ during which issues of joint training of units of the armed forces of Russia and Belarus on the combat use of non-strategic nuclear weapons will be discussed.
The Ministry added that these exercises ‘aim to maintain the readiness of personnel and unit equipment for combat use of non-strategic nuclear weapons of Russia and Belarus in order to unconditionally guarantee the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Union State.
