Sabhea Awad Ibrahim’s IRTIQAA wins Musheireb Cup

Closing out the Musheireb Cup day’s action, the feature race of the seven-race card meeting, the Musheireb Cup, a 1400m Local Thoroughbred Handicap (0-95) for 4Y+, saw Sabhea Awad Ibrahim’s IRTIQAA (QA) (Kendargent x Too Marvelous) stretching clear of her rivals to win by two and a quarter lengths recording a double on the day for trainer Mohamed Khaled Elahmed and jockey Alberto Sanna. The Al Ghazali Stud-owned and Gassim Ghazali-trained MALIK (QA) (French Fifteen) was ridden by Marco Casamento to take the runner-up place while the Umm Qarn-owned and Alban de Mieulle-trained QUEEN STORM (QA) (Trade Storm) finished third as she was a further length behind under Soufiane Saadi.

Abdulla Rashid Al Kubaisi, QREC Racing Manager, presented the trophies to the winners.

ISHFAQ

In the penultimate race, the Purebred Arabian Conditions for 4YO+ went the way of Mohammed Nasser Al Naimi’s ISHFAQ (QA) (Asraa Min Al Barq x Djazie). The Hadi Al Ramzani-trained 9YO enjoyed the drop back in trip to 1400m as he stayed on best of all under Shakir Al Balushi to win by a length.

STYLISH PERFORMER

In the fifth race, and having won the day’s opener, the trainer-jockey combination of Hamad Al Jehani and Lukas Delozier recorded a double on the day as they teamed up with the Mohammed Abdulhadi Al Hajri’s STYLISH PERFORMER (IRE) (Dandy Man x Va Pensiero) stretching two and a half lengths clear at the line in the 1400m Conditions for 3YO+ Thoroughbreds.

VEDUTE

In the fourth race, Hassan Ali Alabdulmalik’s VEDUTE (IRE) (Holy Roman Emperor x Quads) went one better than his previous outing as he won the 1000m Thoroughbred Weight For Age Plate for 3YO+. Given a superb ride from Alberto Sanna, the Debbie Mountain-trained 4YO was the first past the post by half a length.

ROGUE NATION

In the third race, Sheikh Faisal Bin Hamad Bin Jassim Al Thani’s ROGUE NATION (IRE) (Acclamation x Xema) continued his fine run of form as he won the 1600m Thoroughbred Handicap (0-85) for 3YO+ for trainer Mohamed Khaled Elahmed. This was the 4YO’s second successive victory and he won by a quarter of a length in the hands of Szczepan Mazur.

SHUJAA

In the second race, the 1400m Purebred Arabian Maiden Plate for 4-6YOs saw an impressive performance from Umm Qarn’s SHUJAA (FR) (Amer x Noorah). The Alban de Mieulle-trained 5YO bolted four lengths clear of the field under Soufiane Saadi to shed his maiden tag.

SHAHA

Trainer Hamad Al Jehani started the Musheireb Cup Day saddling the first two home in the 1400m Local Thoroughbred Maiden Plate for 3-6YOs as Al Rabban Racing’s homebred SHAHA (QA) (Lethal Force x Jamboretta), under Lukas Delozier, edged her stablemate the Nasser Saif Al Kubaisi-owned and Szczepan Mazur-ridden AL YATEEMA (QA) (Dandy Man) by a neck.
