Doha: Saudi Arabia has condemned and denounced the attack on the Al Daraja neighborhood mosque in El Fasher, which took place on Friday. The attack, which occurred during the Fajr prayer, resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries. It stressed that the attack was a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.
According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement on Saturday, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Kingdom rejects such attacks on civilians, calls for an immediate end to the war in Sudan, and urges all parties to spare the country and its people further suffering and destruction.
The statement also emphasized the need to protect civilians and to uphold the commitments outlined in the Jeddah Declaration, signed on May 11, 2023, which calls for safeguarding civilians in Sudan.
Saudi Arabia extended its condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured a swift recovery.
