Scientific Club and Mada Center Forge Partnership to Enhance Digital Accessibility

Doha: The Qatar Science Club and the Assistive Technology Center (Mada) have signed a strategic cooperation protocol aimed at supporting assistive technology and expanding digital literacy across all segments of society. This initiative seeks to enhance digital accessibility and empower youth in the fields of innovation and technology.

According to Qatar News Agency, the signing of this protocol aligns with Mada Center’s efforts to promote digital accessibility for people with disabilities and the elderly. The Qatar Science Club aims to provide technical and knowledge-based support through joint workshops and training programs, the exchange of expertise, and access to scientific and technical laboratories. Furthermore, the club will offer technical consultations to youth projects in the areas of assistive technology and artificial intelligence.

This collaboration falls within the framework of Qatar’s National Youth Policy Action Plan, which aims to create an enabling and supportive environment for young people of all backgrounds to actively participate in civic life. It also focuses on empowering youth with disabilities and providing them with equal opportunities for inclusion and participation in society, improving their surrounding environment to remove obstacles to their active participation, and supporting education, research, and innovation. Furthermore, it aims to enhance young people’s capabilities in the fields of technology and information, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

The protocol also includes cooperation in hologram applications and digital solutions, the development of innovative technological projects, and leveraging training and manufacturing facilities to support youth projects and empower them to create pioneering solutions that contribute to sustainable development.

On this occasion, Assistant Undersecretary for Youth Affairs at the Ministry of Sports and Youth, Ahmed Mohammed Al Harami, stated: “This collaboration embodies a distinguisHed model for empowering Qatari youth in the digital field and expanding their contribution to developing innovative solutions that serve various segments of society, including people with disabilities. This approach reflects the Qatar National Youth Policy Action Plan, which aims to provide a supportive environment, promote active participation, and ensure that young people have access to opportunities without discrimination. We appreciate the valuable efforts of Mada Center in promoting digital accessibility and the leading role of the Scientific Club in developing young talent. The Ministry affirms its continued support for these partnerships that elevate youth work towards the horizons of sustainable development.”

For his part, Executive Director of the Qatar Scientific Club, Rashid Al Rahimi, remarked: “We are delighted to sign this protocol with Mada Center, one of the leading partners in the field of assistive technology. This collaboration will provide new opportunities for members of the Scientific Club to participate in innovative projects with a societal impact and support the inclusion of people with disabilities in the fields of science and innovation, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.”

Both parties affirmed their commitment to continuing joint work and developing initiatives that promote youth participation in the fields of technology and innovation, and consolidate the principles of digital accessibility and equal opportunities for all segments of society.
