Baku: Silatech has recently concluded its participation at the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Baku, Azerbaijan. This year’s conference united world leaders, practitioners, civil society members, and experts to tackle pressing climate issues, reinforcing Silatech’s commitment to advancing sustainable development and youth economic empowerment in the green economy.

According to Qatar News Agency, during the conference, Silatech organized a panel discussion titled ‘Harnessing Youth Innovation for a Thriving Green Economy,’ featuring panelists from the Food and Agriculture Organisation, French Agency for Development, Education Above All (EAA) Foundation, and UNICEF. The panel discussion focused on strengthening partnerships to empower young people’s role in the green economy, showcasing the importance of economic empowerment in fostering innovation and job creation in developing countries. Panelists highlighted collaborative opportunities with new stakeholders to advance youth’s economi
c inclusion in sustainable industries.

CEO of Silatech, Hassan Al Mulla, emphasized the importance of these conversations, stating that participating in global sustainability forums like COP29 is crucial for advancing the role of youth in building a sustainable future. He highlighted that young people are not just leaders of tomorrow but are today’s innovators and change-makers. Engaging in these global conversations ensures youth are empowered to contribute to the climate agenda and are equipped with the skills needed to drive sustainable solutions. Silatech’s COP29 participation underscores its commitment to fostering a generation of young leaders capable of tackling the complex challenges of climate change while promoting inclusive economic growth.

This year’s COP29 agenda prioritized the goals of the Paris Agreement, with a particular emphasis on scaling up climate action, financing, and adaptation strategies. In line with its mission, COP29 aims to strengthen the involvement of youth, vulnerable commun
ities, and non-state actors in shaping climate policy, while highlighting the importance of sustainability for the health, well-being, and future of mankind and the planet.
