Souq waqif: The Souq Waqif Falcon Hospital is participating once again in the 17th edition of the Qatar International Falcons and Hunting Festival, commonly known as Marmi, offering an array of veterinary and health services to visitors and participants at the festival site in the Marmi area.
According to Qatar News Agency, the hospital's Director, Dr. Iqdam Majid Al Karkhi, stated that their participation emphasizes support for falconers and a commitment to maintaining the health and safety of falcons competing in the event. The hospital is providing specialized services such as endoscopic examinations, sample collections for infection testing, and fecal examinations to detect diseases like coccidiosis.
Services offered also include the administration of nutrients, vitamins, and nutritional supplements, with essential treatments dispensed following diagnosis at the on-site hospital branch. Dr. Al Karkhi highlighted the crucial role of falcon health in achieving optimal performance, stressing the need for disease-free birds and the importance of safe and nutritious food sources.
Dr. Al Karkhi also discussed the use of fasting as a training method, cautioning that it must be balanced to prevent dehydration and nutritional deficiencies. He emphasized the significance of early diagnosis and treatment to prevent chronic conditions, underscoring the addition of vitamins and amino acids to the diet to address potential nutritional gaps.
The Director reaffirmed the hospital's dedication to supporting falconers and providing top-tier services during the Marmi Festival. He lauded the festival's pivotal role in preserving falconry as a sport, offering his best wishes to all participants.
