A new winner for Al Shaqab Racing with ALMUFTI

Al Shaqab Racing’s ALMUFTI notched the third win of his career at Lingfield in the Bombardier March To Your Own Drum Handicap. Ridden by Jack Mitchell, he sat toward the rear in this 1600m race. Once in the straight, he found himself blocked in on all sides, but once the rail opened up, he rapidly made up for lost time and pulled clear. He came under pressure in the closing stages from SILENT ATTACK, who came here off a recent win but held him off to secure victory. ALMUFTI is trained by Hugo Palmer in Newmarket. He is by Al Shaqab stallion TORONADO.
