Dr Mohammed Saif al-Kuwari, member of the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC, affirmed that Qatar has been ranked the first in the Arab and the 33rd internationally in terms of human rights and sustainable development. He added that development and human rights are the main pillars of the policy adopted by Qatar in education, health, environment and the other sectors.
Al-Kuwari then pointed out to the main development objectives stipulated by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and adopted by Qatar, noting that they are mainly focusing on the elimination of poverty, health and well-being, gender equality, the right to decent work and economic growth, among other points.
This came during the celebration held by NHRC, the Police Academy and Qatar University to mark the Arab Human Rights Day.
