Hilala (Toronado) achieved a great performance in the Prix de Carentan (Class 2) this Saturday at Deauville. Al Shaqab Racing’s graduate won with a tight margin half a length but with great confidence. Settled towards the rear in the early stages, the Cristian Demuro-guided filly easily took the advantage over the esteemed Instruit (Intello).
Hilala made her comeback for the season today and remains unbeaten in two starts. She is entered in the Poule d’Essai des Pouliches (French 1,000 Guineas), Prix Saint Alary and Prix de Diane (French Oaks), and her trainer Jean-Claude Rouget can still dream of a classic victory with this daughter of Al Shaqab Racing stallion Toronado.
