Fillies shine on second day of 23rd Qatar National Arabian Horse Show

The second day of the 23rd Qatar National Arabian Horse Show saw more than a 100 fillies competing for honours at the Longines Indoor Arena at Al Shaqab on Saturday.

The four-day event, which began on Friday, will conclude on Monday with the championship rounds.

In the opening class of the day, Al Rayyan Farm’s HIND AL RAYYAN topped Yearling Fillies Class 3A after the judges gave the grey filly 91.50 points.

Joining Hind Al Rayyan in the championship round will be IJLAAL AL SHAQAB of Al Shaqab, Member of QF, after the chestnut filly edged out Jazi Al Ashwa with better numbers on type after both the contenders were locked at 91 points overall.

From Yearling Fillies Class 3B, Ebrahim Bin Yusuf Alromaihi’s IS SHEREEN booked her spot in the championship round with a 92-point victory. Joining the daughter of past class winner Gazwan Al Nasser in the medals round will be Al Nasser Stud’s SHEIHANA AL NASSER, who amassed 91.50 points.

In Yearling Fillies Class 3C, Al Jassim Stud’s ASIA AL JASSIM and Al Reeh Stud’s ROSE KAS were locked at the top with 91 points each. However, with more points on type, the former was adjudged winner of the class, even as both the contenders made it to the Yearling Fillies Championships round.

Ghanim Mubarak Nasser Al Kuwari’s GHALIAH AL KHEESA topped Yearling Fillies Class 3D with 91 points, even as Al Keesa Stud’s MARWA AL KHEESA finished runner up with 90.33 points.

In Class 4A for 2yo Fillies, Al Jassimiya Farm’s EMARELLA impressed the judges enough to amass 92.75 points and win the class with ease. In second place was Al Sraiya Stud’s REEM AL SRAIYA who was rewarded 91 points and made it to the championship round on the final day of the show.

Al Jassim Stud’s ALMA AL JASSIM topped the final class of the day, Class 4B for 2yo Fillies, with a 91.83-point haul, Al Sraiya Stud’s AMIRATA was a close second with 91.67 points.

On Sunday, January 24th, the action begins at 10am with Class 5 for 3yo Fillies, Classes 7 and 8 for colts, and Classes 9, 10 and 11 scheduled for the day.
