In the blue and white stars of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al-Thani, RAJEH (JAAFER ASF), the leading Purebred Arabian 3-year-old in France, made easy work of the opposition in the Grand Prix de Sa Majeste Le Roi Mohammed Vi (Gr3 PA) at Casablanca, Morocco on 17 November 2019. Abdulrahman Al Mansour Director of Al Shahania Stud was present and received the trophy.
Previously trained in France by Francois Rohaut, the two-time Group 1 winner is now in the care of Gassim Mohammed Ghazali. Ridden at Casablanca by Harry Bentley, RAJEH sat on the rail throughout the race before easing to an 8-length victory. The F. Sanchez-trained IBN GADIR (MARED AL SAHRA) finished in second place under I. Mendizabal, with the S. Corette-trained FAWZI AL MELS (BASEQ AL KHALEDIAH) in third under T. Zergane.
From the first generation of horses bred by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al-Thani’s Al Shahania Stud in France at the Haras des Cruchettes, RAJEH headed to Casablanca off a winning return to the track in Doha following an 8-month absence.
