Khalifa bin Mohammed Al Attiyah’s ANIEL wins Prix d’Isigny

ANIEL (PLANTEUR) scored for the second time in his racing career in the colours of Khalifa bin Mohammed Al Attiyah at Deauville on Tuesday 20 August 2019. The 3-year-old colt, who is trained by Simone Brogi in Pau, won the Prix d’Isigny, with Maxime Guyon in the saddle, by a head in front of the Daniel-Yves Treves-owned and JC. Rouget-trained SALINA (PEDRO THE GREAT), who was ridden by Coralie Pacaut. The Johnston Racing Ltd-owned and Mark Johnston-trained TICKLISH (DALAKHANI), was a further half length behind in third under Mickael Barzalona.

The chestnut colt sat towards the rear in this 1900-meter race on the all-weather surface before coming with his run halfway down the straight. He quickly caught the leaders under a decisive ride from Maxime Guyon to win securely despite the small margin. This was a claiming race and ANIEL was subsequently claimed after the race and will now change colours.
