DOHA-The Qatari handball team continues its preparation for the upcoming Asian championships, which are set to take place in Kuwait from January 16-27.
The competition also acts as a qualifier to the world cup that will take place in Egypt in 2021. There are currently 19 players in the training camp who joined from Al Duhail, Al Sadd, Al Rayyan, Al Ahli, Al Arabi, Al Wakra, Qatar, and Al Khor clubs. Al Arabi has the most amount of players in the national team with four.
The team will play a friendly match with Iran before leaving to Croatia to take part in a friendly tournament that will take place from January 2 to January 7. Qatar is in Group B of the Asian championships alongside Japan and China.
They begin their campaign on January 16 with the match against China. Qatar has the competition in 2014, 2016, and 2018.
