The State of Qatar has participated in the international support conference for The Gambia hosted by the European Commission in Brussels.
The State of Qatar was represented by HE Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, Qatar’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and head of its missions to the European Union (EU) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
Federica Mogherini, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, opened the conference in the presence of Gambian President Adama Barrow and a number of officials of the Government of The Gambia.
The conference is held to support Gambia’s national development after the presidential election that brought President Adama Barrow to power through a democratic process praised by the world for its integrity.
International donations reached about 1.045 billion euros.
