The Syrian team for physical strength obtained 44 medals (15 gold, 20 silver and 9 bronze) on the second day of Arab Cup championship, which is currently being held in Lebanese capital, Beirut.
Sami al-Barni won one gold and 3 silvers with a weight of 83 kg in the Masters 1 class, while Ali Qabban obtained 4 golds in with a weight of 83 kg in the Masters 2 class, and Mazen Jumaa won two silvers and two bronzes.
In the junior category, Muhammad al-Shami won a silver and 3 bronzes, Nader Katbeh won a bronze, and Muhammad Safwamar 4 silvers. In the youth class, Muhammad Khaled Mardini won a silver and Ammar Rabei won 4 golds, while Abdel-Aziz Daraj won a silver and 3 bronzes in the men’s class.
In women’s category with a weight of 66 kg, , Israa al-Masry gained two golds and two silvers, while in junior women’s class , Lujain Hassan got 3 golds and a silver, and Rouaa al-Damiati won a gold and a silver, and within young women’s class, Raghad Zain Al-Din won 4 silvers.
Head of Union of Physical Strength, Bilal Bahsas, said in a statement to SANA that the Syrian delegation is the largest among the teams participating in the tournament, which are Egypt, the Emirates, Kuwait, Algeria, Palestine, Iraq and Lebanon.
