Istanbul: “Tawasul” 4th conference kicked off today in Istanbul, Turkiye, under the theme “A new Phase” in presenting the Palestinian narrative. Organized by Palestine International Forum for Media and Communication “Tawasul”, the event brings together over 600 media professionals, including journalists, writers, editors-in-chief, broadcasters, photographers, artists, filmmakers, and academics from 60 countries worldwide.
According to Qatar News Agency, the conference aims to explore the role of Palestinian narrative in today’s media landscape and to discuss how it can gain greater visibility in global media. It also seeks to shape global conversation on Palestine and defend its identity in the face of ongoing occupation, particularly in light of the recent Gaza aggression.
In his opening remarks, Secretary-General of “Tawasul” Forum, Ahmed Sheikh, emphasized that this fourth edition of the conference presents a unique opportunity to strengthen cooperation, align strategies, and unite media institutions in support of the Palestinian cause. He noted the participation of over 600 media experts and intellectuals from around the globe.
Sheikh explained that over the course of the next two days, the forum would feature seminars, interactive sessions, and workshops focused on evolving Palestinian narrative, its role in confronting genocide, and its representation in international media. The forum will also address strategic approaches to building an effective global narrative in support of Palestine.
He highlighted that the event will provide a platform for dialogue and idea exchange through specialized workshops on advocacy, combating digital platform bias, and leveraging modern digital tools to advance the Palestinian narrative, along with other key media issues that serve Palestine’s just cause.
