The Arab Labor Conference votes on the proposal to establish a donation fund to relieve the Palestinian people


The Arab Labor Conference, in its 50th session, held in the capital, Baghdad, voted on the proposal of the working group regarding establishing a donation fund to relieve the Palestinian people.

The Conference also voted, during the third session chaired by the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed Al-Assadi, on Monday, to establish an operational body for workers affected in southern Lebanon by the Zionist invasion, with a proposal submitted by the Lebanese Minister of Labor.

While the three production parties participating in the conference agreed to determine the location and agenda of the upcoming 51st session of the Arab Labor Conference and to authorize the Director General of the Arab Labor Organization to accept the request of any country wishing to host the conference.

During the session, the reports of the Organizing Committee, the Membership Accreditation Committee, the Financial Committee, the Committee for Implementing the Conventions and Recommendations of the Arab Labor Organization, t
he Committee for Issuing a Standard Tool on New Patterns of Work, the Committee towards Productive and Sustainable Labor Markets in the Arab Region, and a Report on Decent Work Conditions for Youth on Digital Platforms were presented.

The Ministers and members of the Employers and Workers Group also voted to maintain the scheduled duration of the Arab Labor Conference for the next sessions, after submitting a study to reduce the agenda to five days, while the third item was reviewed on following up on the implementation of the decisions of the previous conference for the session (49), and the sixth item of the memorandum of General Director.

The Arab Labor Conference decided that Iraqi Labor Minister Ahmed Al-Assadi would be head of the Arab group in the International Labor Organization meetings.

At the conclusion of the session, the Bahrain Federation of Trade Unions honored the Minister of Labor, Ahmed Al-Assadi, for his presidency of the session’s work, while the Saudi Federation of Chambers of Commerce
honored the Director-General of the Arab Labor Organization, and a number of Arab ministers thanked Iraq for its good hospitality and organization of the session’s work.
