An army force thwarted a terrorist attack targeting a military point east of Baquba, the center of Diyala Governorate, last night.

A security source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that “an army force thwarted a terrorist attack targeting a military point belonging to the Fourth Brigade – the Fourth Regiment of Diyala Operations Commandos in (Sukuk) village, south of Kanaan district, southeast of Baquba, without any casualties.

He added that a reinforcement force arrived at the scene of the accident and launched a search campaign in the area.
