Baghdad, Today, Friday, the 43rd summit of leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, the Gulf-Chinese summit and the Arab-Chinese summit concluded in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, in the presence of a number of Arab leaders and Chinese President Xi Xinping.

The closing statement of the Gulf Cooperation Council summit welcomed the convening of the Gulf-Chinese summit and the Arab-Chinese summit in Riyadh, and the statement expressed the aspiration of the member states that the Gulf-Chinese summit and the Arab-Chinese summit contribute to strengthening cooperation and strategic partnership with China.

The statement affirmed the support of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council for the decisions of the “OPEC Plus” group to achieve balance in the oil markets. The Supreme Council also praised the outcomes of the US-Gulf summit within the framework of the strategic partnership.

The statement stressed the strength and cohesion of the Cooperation Council. Stressing that the security of the GCC states is indivisible, in accordance with the principle of joint defense and the concept of collective security.

The statement condemned the terrorist bombing that recently targeted the “Taksim” area in the center of the Turkish city of Istanbul.

The statement also condemned what it called Iran’s continued support for terrorist groups and sectarian militias.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman stressed the importance of integration among the GCC countries.

Regarding relations with Iran, the Saudi crown prince stressed the need for Iran to adhere to the principle of good neighborliness and international conventions.

As for Yemen, the Saudi crown prince stressed the need to find a political solution to end the crisis.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman also said that the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council will remain a reliable source to provide the world with the energy it needs.

The Saudi crown prince stressed the importance of resolving the Palestinian issue in accordance with the principle of a two-state solution, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the Arab initiative. He described it as a new historic breakthrough for China’s relations with the Gulf states. He stressed that the GCC countries attach great importance to raising the level of strategic partnership with Beijing.

The Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, congratulated Emir of the State of Qatar, on the success in hosting the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

For his part, Chinese President Xi Jinping praised the level of Chinese-Gulf cooperation. He said that he promises broad horizons in various fields.

The Chinese president spoke of a high degree of integration between the two parties, which makes them two natural partners for cooperation.

In his speech, the Chinese president referred to his country’s establishment of an investment council with the Gulf states, and the establishment of the Chinese-Gulf Center for Nuclear Security.

He added that we must strengthen our economic partnership, achieve integration and advance development, stressing the importance of China’s concerted efforts with the Gulf countries to activate the payment system in local currencies.

The Chinese president praised the good organization of the State of Qatar for the 2022 World Cup, which is being held on its soil.
