The Foreign Minister discusses with the Iranian Ambassador the recent events taking place in the Gaza Strip

Baghdad – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fouad Hussein, discussed with the Iranian Ambassador to Iraq, Muhammad Kazem Al Sadiq, the recent events taking place in the Gaza Strip.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement, “The Minister received today, Tuesday, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq, Muhammad Kazem Al Sadiq, in the Ministry building in Baghdad.”

The statement added, “During the meeting, they discussed the recent events taking place in the Gaza Strip and the systematic bombing practiced by the occupation forces against the brotherly Palestinian people, and the minister stressed Iraq’s firm and supportive position on the Palestinian cause.”

The two sides pointed out the importance of the urgent meeting of Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Countries to discuss the ongoing war and its dimensions, which will be held in Jeddah tomorrow, Wednesday, and the emergency summit that will be held in Cairo next Saturday, which includes a group of Arab and regional leaders and leaders, to discuss the dangerous conditions witnessed in the Gaza Strip and the attacks, to which the Palestinian people are exposed, and the necessity of supporting international efforts to cease fire, prevent deportation from Gaza, and open safe humanitarian corridors.

For his part, the Iranian Ambassador praised Iraq’s positions in support of the State of Palestine and its people, and Iraq’s pivotal role in achieving stability and peace by dealing with regional and international issues./End
