The House Of The British General In First World War ” Townshend ” In Kut Collapsed Due To Heavy Rains And Storms

The heavy rains and storms that struck the city of Kut led to the collapse of the house and headquarters of the British general “Charles Townshend”, or as he is known in the Iraqi dialect as “Tawzend”, which is one of the most important evidences of the First World War.

Saif Salah, who lives near the house of the General ” Townshend “, told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that the facade of the building collapsed due to heavy rains and storms that hit the city of Kut this evening.

It is noteworthy that this house is a witness to a fierce battle that took place between the British forces stationed in Kut and the Ottoman forces.
