Baghdad, The Iraqi Ambassador to Ankara, Majid Al-Lajmawi, discussed with the Turkish Minister of Health Fakhr al-Din Koca ways to enhance joint health cooperation between the two countries. Ambassador Al-Lajmawi stressed the importance of accelerating the conclusion of the proposed memorandums of understanding between the two countries in the health field. He thanked the Turkish health institutions that receive large numbers of wounded members of the Iraqi security services in accordance with the existing security and military cooperation program between the two countries. He stressed the need to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the field of health tourism, especially since Turkey is a favorite destination for Iraqi patients, stressing the need to maintain meetings between the two sides to overcome the obstacles that Iraqi patients may face during their medical trip. The Ambassador praised the role of Turkish companies that are building a large number of hospitals and health centers in more than one Iraqi city, noting that these projects enhance the quality of health services provided to Iraqi citizens, stressing the importance of benefiting from Turkish expertise in managing and operating Iraqi health institutions, and enhancing cooperation in the field of importing medicines, medical supplies and devices that are characterized by high quality.
