Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari stressed the importance of intensifying efforts in pursuing drug traffickers.

A statement by the Ministry of Interior stated: ‘Al-Shammari chaired a meeting in the General Directorate for Combating Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, to listen to the monthly briefing of this Directorate in Baghdad and the governorates, in the presence of a number of leaders and officers.’

Al-Shammari directed to support the work of the Anti-Narcotics Directorate, stressing at the same time the importance of intensifying efforts in pursuing drug traffickers and using modern technology to combat this crime.

According to the statement, the attendees discussed a number of issues that would develop the work in this directorate in order to achieve the success of the plans drawn up in the field of eliminating this scourge.’/ End
