The President Assures The German Ambassador Of The Importance Of Developing Bilateral Relations And Developing Aspects Of Cooperation Between The Two Countries

The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, met with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Iraq, Martin Jaeger, on the occasion of the end of his tenure in Iraq.

A statement by the Presidency of the Republic said, “The president expressed his thanks and appreciation to the ambassador and his efforts to strengthen relations between the two countries and develop joint cooperation, wishing him success in his future assignments.”

The President stressed “the importance of developing bilateral relations and developing aspects of cooperation between the two countries, pointing to the need for coordination in issues of common concern, and praising the role of the German government in supporting Iraq in its efforts to protect its security and stability, and in its war against the terrorist organization ISIS.”

For his part, the German ambassador affirmed “his country’s keenness to develop relations with Iraq in a way that enhances the prospects for cooperation between the two friendly countries, expressing his thanks and appreciation to the President of the Republic for the support and cooperation he received during his tenure in Iraq.”
