Washington: US President-elect Donald Trump has announced the nomination of Chris Wright, founder and CEO of Liberty Energy, to head the US Energy Department. Trump highlighted Wright’s potential to be a pivotal leader in advancing innovation, reducing bureaucratic hurdles, and fostering a new era of American prosperity and global peace.
According to Qatar News Agency, Trump praised Wright as a pioneer of the American Shale Revolution. Wright has been an outspoken critic of global efforts to combat climate change and has labeled climate change activists as alarmists. He has publicly stated his belief that there is no climate crisis and that the notion of an ongoing energy transition is misleading.
Wright’s nomination also signals the formation of Trump’s Council of National Energy, which is tasked with steering the US towards energy supremacy. This council’s strategy involves minimizing regulatory constraints, boosting private sector investments across various economic sectors, and prioritizing innovation o
