Naqoura: Two Lebanese army personnel were killed and two others wounded today after an Israeli drone exploded in southern Lebanon.
According to Qatar News Agency, soldiers were inspecting an Israeli drone that had fallen in the Naqoura area when it detonated, killing an officer and a soldier and injuring two others.
Sources added that the drone had been carrying an explosive device and was attempting to drop it on a drilling machine in the town of Naqoura.
It is worth noting that a ceasefire agreement in southern Lebanon came into effect on Nov. 27 of last year, stipulating the withdrawal of Israeli forces from border villages and towns in southern Lebanon within 60 days. The Beirut government later agreed to extend the deadline until Feb. 18, but the Israeli army has remained at five points and continues its violations, which have exceeded 3,000 incidents since the ceasefire took effect, according to official Lebanese sources.
