UAE Civil Aviation Temporarily, Partially Closes Airspace

Doha: The Emirati General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has announced a temporary and partial closure of the UAE's airspace. This action is being undertaken as an exceptional precautionary measure to ensure the safety of flights and aircrews, as well as to safeguard the territory of the United Arab Emirates amidst rapidly escalating security developments in the region.

According to Qatar News Agency, the decision was made following a comprehensive and thorough assessment of security and operational risks. The decision involved full coordination with relevant national and international authorities. The GCAA emphasized that airspace safety and the protection of the UAE's air sovereignty are absolute priorities.

The GCAA has confirmed that it will continue to keep the relevant authorities and the public informed of any developments as they occur. The authority has renewed its call for passengers to contact their respective airlines for the latest updates on flight schedules. Airlines, in coordination with local authorities, will provide necessary accommodation and assistance to affected passengers.
