UAE Elected As A Non-Permanent Member Of The UN Security Council/ More

Baghdad It was announced today that the UAE has been elected as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.

Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, said in a tweet on “Twitter” that electing UAE to the Security Council for the period 2022-2023 reflects its active diplomacy, its international position, and its distinguished development model.

He added, “All thanks to the Emirati diplomatic team led by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed.. We look forward to an active, positive and active membership period in the UN Security Council.”

The Emirates News Agency stated that the UAE’s victory today for a non-permanent seat in the Security Council for the period 2022-2023 embodies the great position it enjoys in its regional and international surroundings.

It added, “After nearly 35 years of occupying this seat for the first time” 1986-1987, the UAE is now taking on this responsibility at a time when the world is witnessing unprecedented challenges.

It continued, “With the same steps and principles on which it was founded, the UAE will continue its efforts to maintain international peace and security in cooperation with the members of the Council.” And this was confirmed by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, when the UAE announced its candidacy for this seat last year./ End
