The UNIFIL forces, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, issued today, Thursday, a statement, commenting on the missiles launched from Lebanon towards Israel.

It indicated in an official statement that this afternoon, several missiles were launched from southern Lebanon towards Israel.

It added that the Israeli army informed UNIFIL that it had activated the Iron Dome defense system in response.

The UNIFIL statement confirmed that the head of mission and force commander, Major General Aroldo Lazzaro, is in contact with the authorities on both sides of the Blue Line.

UNIFIL forces concluded, saying: “The current situation is very dangerous, and we urge restraint and avoid further escalation.”
