Doha: In a recent editorial, The Peninsula newspaper reported that HE President of the United States of America Donald Trump engaged in a phone conversation with HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and the Prime Minister of Israel. This call was part of ongoing US efforts to address the repercussions following the Israeli aggression that targeted a residential neighborhood in Doha.
According to Qatar News Agency, during the call, the Prime Minister of Israel apologized for the attack on Doha and the violation of Qatar’s sovereignty, which resulted in the death of Qatari citizen Badr Al Dosari. He assured that Israel would refrain from any future targeting of Qatari territory. HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed appreciation for these assurances and commitments to prevent such violations from reoccurring.
The Peninsula further highlighted that this incident underscores Qatar’s readiness to engage in diplomatic efforts to end the war in the Gaza Strip, aligning with the US President’s initiative. This reflects Qatar’s consistent approach to resolving crises through diplomatic means, promoting regional security and stability.
On the topic of Arab affairs, Al-Watan highlighted the dire situation in Gaza due to continuous bombardments targeting displaced persons and residential buildings, compounded by a deepening ground incursion into neighborhoods under siege. The editorial reported that since October 7, 2023, the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has resulted in over 66,055 deaths and 168,346 injuries.
The paper noted the growing international recognition of the State of Palestine and emphasized the need for the international community to take serious action against the ongoing genocide.
