Moscow: US President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his special envoy, Steve Witkoff, held at the Kremlin was highly productive.

According to Qatar News Agency, Trump wrote on his platform, Truth Social, stating: “My Special Envoy, Steve Witkoff, just had a highly productive meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.” He emphasized the mutual agreement on the importance of ending the ongoing conflict and indicated plans to work towards a resolution in the forthcoming days and weeks.

Trump also mentioned plans to brief European allies on the developments from the meeting, highlighting a collective consensus on the necessity to resolve the conflict between Moscow and Kyiv. Earlier today, President Putin engaged in over three hours of discussions with Trump’s envoy at the Kremlin.

These discussions occur just days before the deadline set by the U.S. President for Russia to consider a proposed peace agreement in Ukraine.
