Washington: The US Department of State has approved two potential foreign military sales to Ukraine worth USD 330 million, including air defense system refurbishment equipment and M109 self-propelled howitzers.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Pentagon’s Defense Security Cooperation Agency stated that the State Department has approved a potential foreign military sale to Ukraine “that includes air defense system support equipment and related equipment for an estimated cost of USD 180 million.”

In a separate statement, it confirmed that a second potential foreign military sale to Ukraine has been approved, which includes “the potential maintenance, repair, and overhaul of M109 self-propelled howitzers and related equipment for an estimated cost of USD 150 million,” noting that it has submitted the required certifications to notify Congress of the two potential sales.

The US Department of Defense previously announced that the US Department of State had approved two potential military sales to Ukraine worth USD 322 million, including missiles and logistical equipment.
