New york: Major US stock indices opened slightly higher on Thursday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 20.5 points, or 0.04%, reaching 46,622.31 points.

According to Qatar News Agency, the S and P 500 index gained 6.8 points, or 0.10%, to reach 6,760.5 points, while the Nasdaq Composite added 2 points, or 0.01%, reaching 23,045.329 points.
