Vietnam Political Consultation Meeting discusses enhancing cooperation

The second round of the UAE-Vietnam Political Consultation Meeting began yesterday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) in Abu Dhabi, which hosted a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The UAE side was chaired by His Excellency Saeed Mubarak Al Hajri, Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs, while the Vietnam side was chaired by His Excellency Pham Quang Hieu, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

During the consultations, both sides reviewed and explored ways of enhancing bilateral relations, and discussed current regional and international developments and areas of common interest. The two sides also affirmed their keenness to strengthen cooperation further in order to achieve the aspirations of the two countries and peoples.

The two sides emphasized their joint commitment to reinforcing climate action, and stressed the importance of the UAE hosting the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), which will be held in November 2023 in Dubai Expo City.
