The US State Department on Saturday strongly condemned the attacks on civilians and energy infrastructure in the Kurdistan region.

The ministry stated in a statement that it “strongly condemns the attacks on civilians and energy infrastructure in the Kurdistan region. Our condolences to the families of the victims and we wish a speedy recovery to the wounded.”

The Ministry stressed that such attacks affect the sovereignty of Iraq. We encourage the authorities to investigate and bring those responsible to justice.

The US State Department continued: Washington will continue to support the government of Iraq and Kurdistan to achieve Iraqi security and sovereignty.
