Gaza city: The World Health Organization (WHO) announced on Wednesday that its workers will continue to operate in Gaza City, despite the Israeli military’s calls for civilians to evacuate due to an ongoing assault in the area.
According to Qatar News Agency, WHO communicated through its X account, affirming its commitment to remain in the city along with its partners. The organization expressed strong disapproval of the recent evacuation directive, which requires one million residents to relocate to a “humanitarian zone” in the south established by Israel.
WHO criticized the evacuation plan, highlighting that the designated zone lacks the necessary size and resources to accommodate both the existing population and the influx of new arrivals. The UN agency emphasized that Gaza’s already strained health system cannot afford further disruptions, as it is crucial to maintain the limited facilities still operational.
