Kyiv, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reiterated his countrys urgent need for more air defense systems, in light of the Russian military operation that has been ongoing since Feb. 24, 2022. In statements broadcast by Ukrainian news agency (Ukrinform), Zelensky said that Ukraine urgently needs more air defense systems and Western combat aircraft, adding that additional air defense systems can significantly reduce difficulties faced by our soldiers, and the threat facing Ukrainian cities. The Ukrainian President stressed the importance of the real strategic power of air defense in this war, explaining that providing Kyiv with Patriot air defense systems will provide better protection to Ukrainian eastern regions and cities such as Kharkiv and Sumy, which are subjected to repeated Russian attacks from air.
