FBI agents killed a person from Utah while they were trying to arrest him, claiming he had made threats against US President Joe Biden prior to his trip to the state.
US media reported, today, Thursday, that the suspect faces 3 charges, including making threats against President Biden, in addition to influencing, obstructing, and retaliating against law enforcement officers through threats.
Investigators reported that the dead man appeared to have a sniper rifle and several other firearms.
According to prosecutors, the suspect posted threats online in recent months against Democratic politicians and other prosecutors who have filed cases against former US President Donald Trump.
The case comes amid mounting criticism targeting leaders in the run-up to the 2024 presidential election, and what FBI Director Christopher Wray described as an "unprecedented level of threats against FBI agents."/ End
