The Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate's detachments affiliated to the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security at the Ministry of Defense arrested a group of people belonging to an extremist religious movement, who were distributing leaflets to visitors aimed at spreading violence, hatred and division among the people.

The Intelligence Directorate said in a statement, "The arrest came through a tight ambush carried out by the Directorate's detachments on the spider bridge in Baghdad, and they had a quantity of publications in their personal bags, and they were handed over to the competent authorities."
